PUG INVASION, THE FINAL CHAPTER

DSCN1718So many pictures, so little space. I am one who has always taken tons and tons of pictures, even before the invention of digital cameras. It was nothing for me to go on a two-week vacation and come back with 35 rolls of used film needing to be developed. Well, since last year when I went totally digital, I have not developed a single print.

Funny, isn’t it? Technology has come so far as to negate my need for photo albums. And I am actually enjoying my pictures so much more in digital form, easily being able to just pull up whatever file I would like to be nostalgic about at the time.

Besides, without all these technological breakthroughs, I wouldn’t be able to share my Pug pics with you all.

We were all pretty exhausted by the end of the day, and it was just plain easier to sit on the ground to offer the girls a drink than to keep bending over.

DSCN1720

And the girls were happy enough having a soft place to snooze on the way home.

DSCN1717

You can tell by their faces that they are two happy Puggies.

P5200536

Imagine the future: What technology would be needed to keep our Pug Divas happy on the moon? Their need for modern conveniences is overwhelming at times: always stealing the warmest, most recently vacated chair; needing dinner to be warmed perfectly and served on time (Pugs can tell time, you know. At least mine can.); preferring a fresh, cool drink of water over yesterday’s leavings. They certainly are Divas, or maybe we just let them be that way.  ☺☺☺

Then again, maybe they just let us believe we are in control.  ☺☺☺

PUG INVASION, PART THREE

P5200538When there are so many Pugs to see, as in 500 at this year’s Pug Crawl, one ends up with too many pictures, and even some video.

P5200514

P5200524

Dogs will be dogs, even if they are Divas, and there was an awful lot of , ahem, rump sniffing going on.

P5200515

Suzie getting her pearls adjusted.

P5200519

P5200529

‘Ah, Dad, make them stop. They are embarrassing me.’

P5200528

Taking out the treat bag drew a crowd.

P5200525

P5200532

This is Charlotte, as Rosie the Riveter. She took second place, but really should have taken first, in my opinion. We were all screaming and chanting, ‘Rosie, Rosie, Rosie.’

P5200537

P5200533

Shake it, baby.

P5200535

P5200544

We only hope she was dyed using an organic substance, like beet juice.

P5200545

P5200547

P5200548

Ok, so I ran out of room again. My ‘pooter doesn’t like to download too many pictures at a time in one post, so I am stuck with finishing off tomorrow. Besides, you don’t mind coming back to see more Pugs, right?

PUG INVASION, PART TWO

P5200506As promised, here are more wonderful Pug pics for you to ooh and aah over.

Enjoy.

My flirty girl doing her thing. Suzie was loving up on all the boys. We don’t call her a hussy for nothing.

This little guy is a cross between a Pug and a Pomeranian. So adorable.

P5200502

And this guy is a Pug Corgi mix. This picture does not do his cuteness justice.

Tinker Belle

P5200508

Backyard Bob, with the slogan, “a chicken for every yard.” He didn’t win, but I thought he should have.

P5200513

If you are not a Pug person, you may not understand how contagious Pugs are. It is not uncommon for a family to have three, four, or even five Pugs.

I have so many more pictures to share that I had better save some for tomorrow. See you again. I hope you have enjoyed the pics so far.

PUG INVASION

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Yes, folks, the Pugs have invaded our little home city of Portland, Oregon. And they run amok yesterday, all over the northwest sector. MacTarnahan’s Taproom graciously hosted this year’s Pug Crawl sponsored by the Oregon Humane Society, with the theme “Pug Nation,” seeing as it is an election year and all.

It is estimated that there were 500 (yes that is a five with two zero’s following) Pugs on paw for this year’s festivities. All I know is that there were way too many for lil’ ol’ me to count. As for the parade, about 100 Pugs dressed up to walk the lengthy parade route (a whole block, which could be considered quite a long walk for some of our chubbier furry friends).

My best friend, who joined us in the fun, commented that she did not think so many dogs could get together, without there being fights or other trouble. Well, there were a few raised voices and a scary moment or two, but those were instigated by the non-Pugs. Pugs, as a general rule, get along with everyone. They will even let a burglar rob you blind, for the cost of a good scratching.

All in all, it was a whole heap of smooshed kissy faced fun. My Tinker Belle and Suzie did not take any prizes, but they sure got the compliments on their attire.

Enough talking, let’s get to those pics.

P5200472

My girls size up the competition by concentrating on a rather interesting tree.

DSCN1684

There were more Pugs in chairs, than people in chairs.

DSCN1686

P5200500

And when a person did get a chair, a Pug was on their lap, naturally, of course. That’s Ken and Tinker Belle.

DSCN1713

My Suzie Cutie as a queen.

Now, this dog on the right is definitely a Pug, while the dog on the left definitely is not, and yet these guy’s mama has been asked before if the little one was the big one’s baby. Of course she said, ‘why, yes.’ Then she promptly rolled her eyes.

P5200478

P5200479

P5200480

P5200481

Pugs are quick little guys. I kept either getting butt shots or missing them altogether.

P5200483

Gotta say, from the front or the rear, these little lambs were absolutely adorable.

P5200484

P5200485

And the rest I will save for tomorrow. See you then, with more great Pug pics.
